Filling the position of Senior OmniChannel Manager for an internationally operating company in the Home & Living sector

Challenge

After a strategy consulting project, our client set up an e-commerce unit through a renowned consulting firm, which was to be equipped with digitally affine personnel from the very first employee. For the multi-channel control of all online sales channels, an experienced staff was needed for the position of Senior OmniChannel Manager, who is responsible for the online sales activities with online marketplaces, third party eRetailers and the further development of the own online brand presence. In addition to the professional profile, the challenge in filling the position was that the future position holder would have experience in building larger e-commerce units, while at the same time being able to start with a small team with a high “hands-on” mentality.

Method

Jointly with our client, we designed the role profile of the ideal candidate and then used it to develop a job profile. We then optimized the framework conditions for the digital unit and relocated it to an attractive location only 40 km from the German headquarters. We then proposed various candidates from our network and accompanied all interviews at the client’s premises in order to support the human resources department in its professional assessment. The client was thus able to choose the target candidate from three very good candidates. The target candidate has been a jobholder for 24 months and is extremely satisfied with both the candidate and the client.
